Folio (40.0 cm x 24.1 cm), rebound (mid-19th century) in full calf, gilt border decorations on upper and lower boards, gilt inside dentelles, gilt lettering on spine ("New Testament") and a profusion of uniform gilt decorations on spine. Upper board present but cleanly detached; heavy wear to all tips. The leather has a beautiful rich patina. Overall the binding is in fair condition.

Wear to bottom tips of cloth covered boards, fraying and chipping at ends of spine, two dark spots (the larger being smaller than a dime and the other pencil eraser size) on the spine, and short horizontal tear middle of spine; hinges sound, previous owner bookplate affixed to first blank page and a short pencil line on two pages (one is red pencil), otherwise internally nice.
