Featured Books

Tolkien, J. R. R.
The Lord of the Rings (3 Volumes in Slipcase)
London: Harper Collins, 1991. Hard Covers in Dust Jackets. Fine / Fine.

A nice set of gift quality. "The Fellowship of the Ring" is a second printing of this 1991 edition; "The Two Towers" is a third printing; and "The Return of the King" is also a third printing. The dust jackets of all three books are from original sketches by Tolkien; the slipcase, which has a tiny nick along front edge, has Tolkien inspired designs stamped in silver foil. [Book No. 17027]
$120 USD

  Purdy, Alfred W. (AI).
The Enchanted Echo (Signed).
Vancouver: Self-Published, 1944. First Edition. Wraps. Very Good.

Bound in grey-tan textured wraps with yapp edges, titles printed in black on front cover. Wraps are age darkened, have corner creases, the yapp edges are creased along the edges of the text block and there are a couple of short tears on the fore edge of the back cover; internally nice. Purdy's book, poems, printed by Clarke and Stuart Co. of Vancouver. Reportedly printed 500 copies with only 50-100 actually being paid for and released to Purdy, the rest being destroyed by the printer. Signed by the author on the first page (otherwise blank). [Book No. 10418]
